Megan {Senior Session}

It started POURING as I was heading to meet Megan for her senior photos. I considered – “Do we cancel? Do we wait it out?” I didn’t call her and she didn’t call me….we briefly texted but no mention of the rain….The kids were taken care of and time was blocked off for this – so I continued to the destination.

When I arrived, the rain stopped and the sun came out. All of that happened in that one instant. The skies opened for the two hours we had scheduled to shoot…and then the rain returned. I don’t know why it happened like that. Other times it pours and we reschedule or shoot in the rain (right Jepsen family?? :))

The break in the rain was a blessing. The time spent with Megan, her mom and sister was also a blessing. I love walking around town, exploring, finding new places to shoot and getting to know others better…getting a glimpse into someone else’s life, finding ways to get someone to open up so the photos I take show more of the real nature of the person.

Megan is beautiful and she is sweet and unassuming. The resemblance between her mother, sister and her (or should it be she???) is remarkable.

Megan, I hope your senior year is filled with many more moments of sunshine and bright sun rays breaking through the rain rather then moments of feeling burdened by dark clouds and threatening circumstances. Praying that you can trust in the One (the only One) who brings true peace and calms the storms. I always have to remind myself that this doesn’t mean the storm always subsides right away…but the peace transcends the storm regardless.

Thanks for letting me be your photographer <3. I am honored!

Matthew 8:23-27 (NIV) – Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

Isaiah 26:3 – Kept/Resting in Perfect Peace

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
